La Fondazione Nord Est ha avviato un Osservatorio ricorrente sull’opinione pubblica in merito al rapporto fra immigrazione e cittadinanza in Europa, diretto da Ilvo Diamanti. La ricerca, giunta alla sua quarta edizione, quest'anno è stata realizzata dalla Fondazione Nord Est e da Demos & PI. L'indagine qui presentata costituisce una parte dell'osservatorio ed è circoscritta agli orientamenti e agli atteggiamenti dei cittadini europei di fronte all'allargamento dell'Unione Europea. I risultati anche della sezione relativa all'immigrazione e ai diritti di cittadinanza saranno presentati nell'autunno 2004.
I sondaggi su cui si fonda la ricerca sono stati condotti, nel periodo 29 marzo-14 aprile 2004, mediante sondaggio, svolto da alcune fra le più autorevoli agenzie demoscopiche europee, su un campione statisticamente rappresentativo della popolazione di nove paesi. Il campione, di 8795 casi (900-1000 casi per paese) è rappresentativo della popolazione, con 15 anni e più, residente nei paesi considerati; esso è stato definito in base alle principali variabili socio-demografiche.
La rilevazione è stata realizzata in parte mediante sondaggio telefonico (Francia, Germania, Gran Bretagna, Italia, Slovenia, Spagna, Polonia) in parte tramite interviste faccia a faccia (Polonia, Repubblica Ceca, Ungheria).
Fondazione Nord Est has set up a recurrent survey on people’s attitude towards migrations and citizenship in Europe. The research work is directed by Ilvo Diamanti. This is the fourth edition of the survey, which was carried out that time by Fondazione Nord Est and Demos & PI.
The following paper is the first part of a wider project. It deals therefore only with European citizens’ attitudes and expectations towards the enlargement of the EU.
In autumn 2004 the results concerning migrations and citizenship rights will also be available.
The survey was carried out from March 29th to April 14th 2004, in cooperation with some of the most prestigious European poll institutes. The universe is made up by the population of 9 different European countries, with more than 15 years. The sample was nationally stratified according to the main socio-demographic variables. About 900-1.000 people were interviewed in each country. Altogether the sample sizes 8.795 cases.
In six countries (France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom) the people were interviewed by phone (CATI), whereas face-to-face interviews were carried out in three other countries (Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland).
